About the artist, John Dambrell
John Dambrell is a painter, a musician, and a devoted family man. Of Native American descent (Chickasaw tribe), and the son of a U.S. Army officer, John lived in California, Arizona, Oklahoma, Missouri, and on a Nez Perce reservation in northern Idaho before settling in Florida.
John specializes in seascapes, landscapes, and floral settings, through the medium of oil on canvas, utilizing the "wet on wet" techniques he has learned and refined over many years of practice. John's oil paintings create vivid, lasting images that express feelings that cannot be put into words.
John's greatest goal as an instructor is to help each student create his or her own unique works of art. Rather than insisting on a "one size fits all" approach, John personalizes each lesson, and helps each student paint what he or she sees in their mind's eye. John's love of teaching is apparent to his students, and his painting techniques are both deeply expressive and surprisingly easy to learn.
"Anyone can learn to paint. You do not need some special talent. You do not need to be able to sketch. You need only patience, and the desire to learn."
